FX Talks is back for its third year on Thursday 16 May 2019 with another all-star line-up of radical thinkers. While more influential speakers from diverse backgrounds are yet to be announced, the talk will be compèred by journalist and writer Tom Dyckhoff, and speakers confirmed so far include Professor John Clarkson, director of the Cambridge Engineering Design Centre; Dr Zoe Laughlin, artist, maker, presenter and materials expert; Professor James Woudhuysen, journalist; Professor Michael Scott, Classicist, writer, and broadcaster; and Tim Hunkin, English inventor, engineer, cartoonist, writer and artist, best-known for creating the Channel Four television series The Secret Life of Machines.
Starting with welcome drinks at 4.30pm, our speakers will deliver TED-style 15-minute lectures on what radical thinking means to them and in their field. After the talks, you will have a chance to network with our VIP guests over drinks and canapés.
